Southwest Youth and Family Services (SWYFS) has been providing services in the West Seattle area since 1979. Our mission is to empower youth and families through culturally relevant counseling, education and family support services in White Center, South Park, Delridge, West Seattle and other neighborhoods.
SWYFS is a private non-profit, 501(c)3 organization; all donations are tax deductible.
We provide services in three main areas:
Individual, family and group counseling for youth and families; drop out prevention, intervention for academically at-risk youth and for criminal justice system involved youth.
Counseling is provided in English and Spanish; case management is provided in English and Samoan.
High school re-entry services; GED preparation for teen parents.
Parenting education and support; advocacy and support in accessing community resources for immigrant and refugee families and for families with children with developmental disabilities; English as a Second Language classes.
Services are available for English, Spanish, Arabic, Somali, Cambodian and Samoan speaking parents. Advocacy and support for young parents and for Native American youth.
