Education Center

Everyone needs and deserves a good education. For students who have dropped out of school, been expelled, or have just fallen behind, the Southwest Education Center (SWEC) can help. Our teachers understand the things that can get in the way of learning and help students overcome them.

Teachers at the Education Center set high academic standards and provide the environment and instruction needed to meet them. We stress individual responsibility and prepare students to be successful in future educational or employment settings.

Programs available at the Education Center include:

The high school re-entry program is an alternative high-school experience designed to help students reconnect with their education. This program is for high-school students ages 15-19 who have dropped out, been suspended, or who are seriously behind in their credits. The goal is to help students successfully transition back into comprehensive high schools so they can graduate with their peers.

Our small classes focus on language arts, math, social studies and personal development. Other classes may be offered to satisfy high-school requirements.

Students are welcome to apply at any time. Although not every student who applies will be eligible, we review all applications. We place selected students on a waiting list and notify them when the next opening is available.

Southwest Education Center operates the re-entry program at our main center on Delridge.
